There are still a lot of decoding bugs, so every savefile I get for testing helps.A clean save refers to a save that does not contain any data for a removed plugin anymore. If you could send me a copy of the file, I could check it out. Usually that actually means that there was an error while reading the file. ReSaver should not be making ANY changes to a file unless you actually choose "Save" from the file menu.Īlso, Java shouldn't be running out of heap space unless you are literally running it on a pocket calculator or something.

Are you sure the file wasn't already corrupted? Because if not, there is SERIOUS problem. If you then save over the original, then obviously the original will be replaced. It loads the savefile into memory, and edits it there. It's fine though - that save was made right after an autosave I can go back to.ĮDIT: Actually, I'm getting heap space errors every time I attempt a save & the target save becomes useless. I'm asking about this because the first save I tried using this on seems to have been completely gutted & is now useless (Java hung up on a heap space issue & I had to manually end it).

I have a question - from what I can tell this doesn't seem to create a copy of the save then edit that copy? Rather it directly edits the target save itself it seems. Grumpyhouse wrote: I've been looking forward to a cleaning tool & I really appreciate this.

You mention "Crash Fixes", but I can't find an SSE version anywhere: Would you please let me know how to get it? Anyway, I took some numbers down to see how much save game bloat your script cleaner removed.

Your script cleaner identified and removed 71 unattached scripts, probably from mods that were removed without this cleaning process available.

The old save game was loaded into the script cleaner with no problems, and then the new (cleaned) save game loaded into SSE again with no problems that I could see. I am not complaining, just trying to give you feedback to help this process along. Might the cleaner have taken out scripts that my mods re-added once the newly-cleaned game was loaded? I didn't get the number for the Before Cleaning Shrine of Talos save game as it was overwritten by the cleaned one and the cleaner didn't automatically make a backup, as I was used to the old one doing.Īnyway, it looks like the KB went back pretty much to what it was before the cleaning. I tried your script cleaner on a save game of a Level 37 Noiral sorceress that had been through a lot of mod changes since I started playing SSE. Will you implement it?Ī: PM me the details and I'll take a look.Įdited by markdf, 29 June 2020 - 10:39 PM.

Q: I have an idea for a fancy new filter/cleaning operation. With crash fixes 10 and up, it will be written out with a slightly modified format. Normally that would result in a corrupted save (so corrupted that it causes save editors to crash). Q: How does Crash Fixes change the savegame format?Ī: The new save format only takes effect if your string table exceeds 64K entries. Also, you need to tell me what game you're having a problem with, since ReSaver covers three different games - two Skyrims and one Fallout.Ī: The main page has a description of how to use ReSaver. Be sure to send along a copy of your mod list. You can also go into the "Help" menu and choose "Open Log", and copy the contents of the log for me. Yes, you know which mods I'm talking about.Ī: If you don't know why you would need them, then you probably don't need them.Ī: I'd be happy to, but you'll need to post the savefile so that I can test it myself. I don't care what mods you have installed, I've seen it all. You can use dropbox or whatever other service works for you. IF YOU WANT HELP WITH A SAVEFILE, YOU'LL NEED TO SEND IT TO ME FOR TESTING.
